Season 2: Episode 18
WOW! What a game! I suspect we will have some tired kids (and staff) today. Last night was a great lesson to remind our kids about never giving up, never quitting and always believing in yourself.
Welcome back readers!
The Model UN Club went to their conference at the Sheraton Boston this past weekend. The student delegates represented France debating solutions to problems such as Human Rights, what to do with Space Debris, International Atomic Energy, and Narcotic Drugs. They were very focused, worked hard, and made friends from all over the world. Winchester High School was well represented by our students!

Our Tops Basketball athletes and their WHS buddies!
The following is a guest blog contribution from Marc Arria and John Fleming:
On Sunday, January 22nd, the Sachems Lead club hosted Amherst Leads and guest speaker Katie (O’Donnell) Bam. Katie Bam is a 2x Olympian, 2010 Sportswoman of the Year award winner, and 2x National Champion in field hockey. Katie shared her experiences and views on leadership as a student-athlete, Olympian, and currently as a coach.
A few weeks ago, 12 members of Sachems Lead ran a leadership workshop for the 5th grade students at Ambrose Elementary School. Samantha Blumsack, Shelley Blumsack, Maddie Bohne, Tristan Boudreault, Brennan Clarke, Jake Cohen, Ollie Cordeiro, Annie Costello, Pat Costello, Abby Joseph, Eamon Mahoney, and Molly Nadel led the elementary students through activities and discussion. Our Sachems Lead students did a terrific job teaching teamwork, communication, and resiliency. Ambrose Assistant Principal Ms. Correll said, “I know our students thoroughly enjoyed hearing from your students, and as a staff we were thankful and thrilled with their message.”
The Sachems Lead club is open to all high school students interested in developing their leadership skills. The group typically meets twice per month on Mondays before school. Meetings are dedicated to discussing leadership styles, current issues students are facing in school, and guest speakers. The club also hosts a summer workshop right before fall sports season begin.
